About Laura Rosenberg

I’m an artist and interior architect based in Sweden, originally from Finland. Through my paintings I tell stories that are not only seen, but deeply felt. My work is personal and intuitive, an expression of emotion, memory, and quiet reflection.

I live in the Swedish countryside near Stockholm, and the Nordic landscape is a constant presence in my work. Mist over fields, still water, and fading light shape both my portraits and my landscapes. My style moves between poetic realism and subtle abstraction, influenced by Romanticism, Symbolism, and the atmospheric simplicity of Tonalism. I am inspired by painters such as William Bouguereau, Albert Edelfelt, James McNeill Whistler, and George Inness, artists who sought not only to depict the visible world, but to evoke an inner one.

I am drawn to capture haunting beauty, softened edges, subtle melancholia, and the timeless silence of nature.

My artistic voice is poetic and atmospheric. I create evocative portraits and landscapes in soft, earthy palettes, where realism dissolves gently into mood. My techniques are classical and traditional. I primarily work with oil paintings, but also in charcoal and soft pastels.

For me, painting is a way to speak the unspoken, to tell stories that words cannot capture. My art is a practice of faith. Through every brushstroke, I hope to honor the beauty God has placed in all things. I believe stillness holds power, and feeling deeply is itself a form of devotion. Art is a path I began later in life, and it continues to evolve with me.
